Patrick Bates has been playing music since the age of only 8 years old, and has been writing songs since he was 13. He went on to become a professional sound engineer while playing in several projects. After 15 years of working and playing with bands, he finally became tired of  those projects falling apart. All the work put into something, only to have it fall apart due to someone else's change of heart or direction, made Bates realize the best choice was to start his own project; one that would depend on no one but himself. With that, the Road Sans Map EP was released in 2011, followed by Demonstrations in 2012 (along with a live album) and finally, the Feathers and Pearls EP

Patrick has preformed all over the country, as well as over seas, and has held residencies in Santa Barbara and in San Diego. He has toured with bands like Alberta Cross and Marco With Love, and has played live on radio stations like Cut The Cord Radio. Feathers and Pearls is in constant rotation at WRIR, WNRN, WXRY, Hard To Port Radio, Indie Showcase, and WCPR. The songwriter has also recently been reviewed by RVA Magazine, Setlist (Mexico City), and A Few Good Times In My Life, among others.
